The Indy whips, Bullwhips and Snakewhips are made using 1st grade veg-tanned roo hide in 12, 16 or 20 plait. The Indy whip.
All my Indy whips are made starting with an 8 inch steel pin attached to a rolled leather core. Then the first 6 plait belly followed with the first bolster. A second belly is then plaited in 8 plait. Now I add the last bolster then the final overlay in 12 plait ending in 6 plait like the original David Morgan pattern. I use a special binding technique between all layers of the whip exclusive to Midland Whips to ensure a solid transition from handle to thong. The whip is finished with 2 turks head knots, 4 bite taken twice around the transition and 3 times around the butt, with a 6 strand wrist loop, a white hide fall and black cracker. All my roo whips are made entirely from 1st grade roo hide!

Crystal Skull Whip
All my Crystal Skull whips are made starting with a 7 inch fibre glass rod attached to a plaited leather core. Then the first 6 plait belly followed with the first bolster. A second belly is then plaited in 8 plait. Now I add the last thick cow hide bolster then the final overlay in 12 plait ending in 8 plait finished with an Austrailian style fall hitch. I use a special binding technique between all layers of the whip exclusive to Midland Whips to ensure a solid transition from handle to thong. This is taken out further on the Crystal Skull whip than the standard Indy whips, The whip is finished with 2 Turks head knots, 6 bite taken twice around the transition and twice around the butt, with a 4 strand wrist loop, an Indian tanned latigo fall and a black cracker.
